New i40 to star on Hyundai's Geneva stand

Hyundai has released the first exterior photographs of its new Mondeo rival, the i40.

Hyundai has confirmed that its i40 will make its world premiere in two weeks at the Geneva Motor Show.

The i40 is the firm's latest model to give off a poignant European tang, being part of its new "Modern Premium" approach, the bold new direction taken by Hyundai to make high quality motoring available to everyone.

The "Germanic" looks should come as no surprise though as the model has its roots firmly set in European territory, with it being both designed and engineered at the outfit's R&D headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany.

Developed specifically for the European market, the model is due to host an assortment of equipment and technology tailored to current European tastes. This is evident in the powertrain choices available to i40 buyers.  A 1.7-litre diesel engine will emit from just 113g/km of CO2 for Band A taxation.

The i40 will also bare new niceties for Hyundai, including heated and reclining front and rear seats; a heated steering wheel; and an active de-mist system that automatically detects and clears mist on the windscreen.
