McLaren’s next supercar will benefit from an all-new driver interface and central infotainment screen.

What's the news?

It's only a few days until we finally get to see the second-generation McLaren Super Series in the metal, but that hasn't stopped the Woking company from teasing yet more details about its new supercar. This time it's the turn of the interior, with a folding driver display taking the spotlight.

The driver interface has two forms; an upright full-screen version displaying all vital vehicle information (the default setting upon unlocking the car), or rotated 90 degrees to form a thin bar displaying only vital parameters. The latter option can be activated either by pressing a button or selecting one of the sport-oriented driving modes, and is especially useful on track where minimal distraction is key. Check this out in the video below.

A new eight-inch screen on the centre console will take care of infotainment features such as audio, media and navigation, and is user-configurable. The cabin will also benefit from aluminium switches and the usual level of quality fit and finish.

This is the latest in a long line of hints released by McLaren, and the car's reveal at Geneva is sure to be a busy affair. We already know certain engine, chassis and performance details, so stay tuned for more information as and when we get it.
