Tallaght Fiat launches local 'Be Road Safe' initiative

Tallaght Fiat promotes road safety awareness among schools.

Tallaght Fiat (Airtron Road Tallaght) this week launched a new "Be Road Safe" campaign, primarily directed towards the promotion of road safety awareness through education.

The initiative was born after dealer principle Michael Kerslake became aware of the worrying lack of reflective gear worn by local children during the dark winter months. With the backing of both the Road Safety Authority and Fiat Automobiles Ireland, the branch has begun distributing over 5,000 special "Be Road Safe" packs to schools within the Tallaght, Clondalkin and Walkinstown areas of Dublin. The packs contain a high-visibility jacket, a reflective arm band, as well as a copy of the "Safe Cross Code" booklet.

Noel Brett, CEO of the Road Safety Authority, was in attendance at the launch of the initiative at St. Kevin's National School in Kilnamanagh, Dublin, and stated: "I am very grateful to Tallaght Fiat for funding this life-saving project. It is fantastic to see a business investing in children's safety in such a tangible and proactive way."

Adrian Walsh, MD of Fiat Group Automobiles Ireland, was no less supportive, stating that he was "delighted with the initiative taken by Tallaght Fiat in launching this campaign".
