Renault Ireland's new longer range Zoe electric car is now on sale.

What's the news?

Renault Group Ireland has launched its updated Zoe line-up, headlined by a new longer range battery pack that makes it possible, in theory, to cover 400 kilometres between charges. The all-electric Zoe costs from €23,490 including SEAI grant and VRT relief.

That's for the entry-level Expression Nav model, which retains the old 22kWh battery pack and theoretical range of 240 kilometres. The 40kWh battery is available in the Zoe Dynamique Nav and Signature Nav versions, priced at €27,490 and €29,990 respectively. Standard equipment on the Expression Nav includes climate control, satnav and the Renault-patented Chameleon smart charger. The latter can adapt to different power levels at charging points and Renault reckons it takes 30 minutes to charge an extra 80km worth of juice into the batteries.

The Zoe Dynamique Nav features hands-free entry, an upgraded sound system, 16-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors, while the plush Zoe Signature Nav has leather upholstery, a parking camera and BOSE sound system as standard.

Anything else?

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Manager, Renault Group Ireland had this to say about the new Zoe: "Zoe Z.E. 40's long range battery gives people real confidence, and makes the electric car a real option for more people than ever. Our 24-hour test drive programme gives customers the chance to experience this confidence for themselves. Ireland is ready for EVs thanks partly to the size of the country, but also the extensive public charging network - and new Zoe is the perfect car to make the most of this."
