What's the news?
BMW has given the 2 Series Coupe a very light dusting of concealer and foundation, to keep it fresh before an all-new lineup arrives next year.
The car gets new LED headlights, with similar hexagonal LED highlights as seen on the 4 Series and 5 Series. The styling at the front has been lightly tweaked too, with a bigger grille and new grille surrounds and there's the option of a new Shadow Line exterior trim, that uses dark trim in place of chrome.
There are new colours; Sunset Orange and Seaside Blue and the option of new alloy wheel designs.
Inside, there's a new centre console, and a new iDrive screen, which is now touch-sensitive, and comes in 8.8-inch size as standard on all models. You can optionally have the new 'Black Panel' digital instrument panel, and there have been subtle changes to things such as air vents and switch design. Overall levels of quality are said to be up, too.
BMW is also increasing the tech count, with the infotainment system (which uses the new 'tile' iDrive layout) coming with, optionally, Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) with hazard preview, On-Street Parking Information, vehicle access via Remote Services and the integrated Microsoft Exchange function for sharing and editing emails, calendar entries and contact details. Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay, inductive charging and a WiFi hotspot for up to ten devices.
The engine lineup is essentially unchanged from before, and the usual eight-speed ZF gearbox and optional xDrive four-wheel drive are also available.
