What's the news?
Audi has announced that the A5 Sportback is now available to order with the 150hp version of its 2.0-litre TDI engine. The proven engine can be had with either six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic transmissions, and prices start at €46,500.
The 150hp powerplant can achieve CO2 emissions as low as 111g/km, putting it in Band A4 (€200 per year) in terms of tax, while also returning fuel economy of 4.3 litres/100km. It's not yet known whether this engine option will make its way into the A5 Coupe.
We've already tried the new A5 Coupe and Sportback in 2.0-litre, 190hp guises, and found them to be more than up to the job. The 150hp engine still produces a healthy 320Nm of torque (down 80Nm from the 190hp engine), and can propel the Sportback to 100km/h from rest in nine seconds on the way to a top speed of 219km/h.
