What's the news?
Ahead of the 2017 World Touring Cars Championship (WTCC) race at the Nürburgring, Volvo has revealed its ultimate iteration of the S60 Polestar held the four-door production car lap record at the Nordschleife... and no one even knew.
The Swedish company apparently stayed on after the 2016 WTCC race at the venue and did some timed laps in the hot S60 road car, resulting in a scorching 7m 51.110s lap time.
It says it could not talk about the lap record for a year, although this is a bit awkward as - since then - the Porsche Panamera Turbo MkII and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio have both gone considerably quicker around the German venue.
Anything else?
Here's a short video about the Polestar's feat.
