What's the news?
Fancy checking out some fabulous classic cars, and doing your bit to help people cope with sight loss at the same time? Well then get yourself on down to St. Columba's College, Whitechurch, Co. Dublin on the 25th of June for the Des Cullen Classic & Vintage Car show. The event which is now in its 21st year will feature some of the most sought after vintage cars which have been lovingly cared for by their owners.
Up to 120 cars, including Bentleys, Triumphs and Minis as well as the ultra luxurious Horch will be on display on the day, and every cent raised will go to the National Council for the Blind of Ireland NCBI.
Jean Ryan, Manager of the NCBI shop in Crumlin and one of the chief organisers of the event says: "It is a fabulous day out and we always get a great crowd. The cars are amazing and people adore them as they are so elegant and timeless. It is a lovely family day out and if you tire of looking at the fabulous cars we will have a pop up NCBI charity shop there on the day".
Jean is anxious to point out that every single cent raised on the day will go toward the NCBI. "We get so much support from the business community which is invaluable to us .We will have teas, coffees and refreshments and all of this is donated to us by suppliers, we don't pay for anything so it all goes back to the NCBI. We are grateful to St. Columba's for their generosity in giving us their grounds and grateful to all the people who throw their weight behind us, it means so much to so many.."
