What's the news?
We got a heavily-disguised preview of the potent new Renault Sport Megane at the recent Monaco Grand Prix, and Renault is now allowing out a few more details about its 300hp (probably) hot hatch.
We knew already that it would share a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine with the gorgeous new Alpine sports car (albeit with more grunt than the featherweight Alpine's 250hp), but now we know that the Renault Sport Megane will also come with the choice of different chassis. Renault has done this before, with the old Megane RS, and the Clio too, and once again you'll be able to choose between a Sports chassis (agile, handling-oriented, but still comfy enough for everyday use) and Cup (more aggressive, really for track day heroes and the like).
Renault Sport has also confirmed that the new hot Megane will get four-wheel steering, which it says "offers drivers enhanced agility, cornering performance and steering precision. Renault Sport engineers have specifically calibrated the system to take the car's performance to new limits thanks to exceptional agility and cornering stability at higher speeds."
We'll have more details of what will surely be the fastest Megane ever as they come in...
