What's the news?

Frank Keane BMW has presented five BMW i3 electric cars to Unicef Ireland, in order for the charity to carry out its work in raising funds and awareness of the need to provide humanitarian aid to children in developing countries.

The i3s will help Unicef to maintain a low-cost fleet with zero emissions and the tie-up also marks 50 years of Frank Keane's association with BMW, as well as celebrating the network becoming an official BMW i Agent.

Frank Keane will also donate €15 to Unicef for every new car purchased from its sites in Blackrock and Naas Road, and also €5 for every service. Customers will be given the opportunity to match the donation, if they so wish.

"Unicef Ireland is constantly seeking new and innovative ways of helping children, this partnership is an excellent example," said Peter Power, executive director for the charity. "Unicef is 70 years in operation, while Frank Keane BMW is celebrating its 50th anniversary - together we will use the skills and knowledge we have acquired in our respective fields to achieve breakthrough change for children."

Anything else?

"We are excited to be embarking on a new chapter with the BMW i brand and the partnership with Unicef, who are leading by example," Mark Bradley, head of business at Frank Keane BMW. "This fleet of i3s will provide emission free driving with a pure electric range of 130km in real-world driving conditions and will certainly be eye-catching on our roads."
