What's the news?
Mercedes is preparing to unleash an army of new models and concepts at the Frankfurt motor show in just under two week's time, and this rather lovely updated S-Class Coupe is just the tip of a three-pointed iceberg...
Doubtless taking pride of place on the Merc stand will be the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar, inspired by the Mercedes team's unstoppable Formula One success over the past three seasons, and featuring an engine derived from that mighty F1 hybrid V6.
There will also be the EQA plugin hybrid electric concept car, which will both give us a look at Mercedes' plans for its all-electric EQ brand, and a glimpse at how the next-generation A-Class will look.
On the future technologies front, there will also be a first look at the hydrogen fuelled GLC F-Cell, which will go into production next year, and the Vision EQ autonomous concept from Smart.
On a more 'buy one now' level will be that updated (still gorgeous) S-Class Coupe and Convertible, the X-Class pickup, and a new S560e plugin hybrid S-Class saloon.
In all, more than 100 new models and concepts will be on Mercedes's stand at Frankfurt. If you're going, bring comfortable shoes...
