Hamann presented its Guardian - a 550hp version of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo - at the Geneva Motor Show. Along with the power boost it gets a distinctive new look.
The front end features a deep new front apron with large air intakes, daytime running lights and extra full beam and fog lamps. Side skirts and a rear bumper with a diffuser are also fitted. A new carbon fibre bonnet with ventilation holes allows extra cooling air to pass through the engine compartment.
Extra power comes from a new exhaust system, sports air filter and an 'optimised' engine map. The result is 550hp at 6,100rpm and 770Nm of torque between 2,300- and 4,600rpm. Hamann claims 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h.
Braking is provided by ceramic disks (420mm in diameter at the front) clamped by six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear. Forged 23-inch alloy wheels are fitted and a sports mode has been developed for the Cayenne's air suspension, lowering the car by 35mm.
The interior has not been forgotten; there is a new, airbag equipped steering wheel and carbon components on the dashboard and centre console. The leather seats feature embroidered logos.
