The driving debut for Jaguar's latest and fastest ever model - the XKR-S - is to be held on March 17, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Press Day.
The event marks the first step of a collaboration between Goodwood and Jaguar as the car maker will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the E-Type. A sculpture of the legendary model will occupy the 'central feature' space in front of the Goodwood House throughout this year's event.
Jaguar's XKR-S will be driven up the hill among a fleet of all three generations of E-Types at Goodwood Hill at the festival. The event is to be held between 1-3 July.
Claims for the XKR-S include 8.7 seconds from zero to 160km/h, reaching a top speed of 300km/h. The revised chassis (including suspension architecture, springs, dampers, the reprogramming of Dynamic Stability Control and the Active Differential) is said to improve traction to handles the increased power.
Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity will drive the car on Press Day and at the Festival of Speed event.
The XKR-S will make a return to Goodwood Revival along with the E-Types between 16 and 18 of September.
