Morgan is teasing the launch of its upcoming new Aero GT, a trad-looking sportscar which will pack some serious racing tech under, and indeed on, is skin.
Only eight Aero GTs will be made, and they will be the last of the current Aero 8 models produced. All of them have already been snapped up by keen Morgan enthusiasts.
Based on the same aluminium chassis as the Aero 8, the Aero GTs will use a 367hp BMW V8 engine, which allows the car, according to Morgan, to accelerate to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, and on to a top speed of 274km/h.
The cars will benefit from Morgan's experience with GT3 racing, and each one will get a new, more aerodynamically-efficient (but still hand-made) aluminium body. Morgan claims that this new body will offer lower drag, but increased downforce, and will feature distinctive louvres on top of the wheel arches, and a pronounced rear diffuser.

The Aero range has always offered Morgan the platform to explore the boundaries of mechanical and styling design and I am delighted the family has allowed one of our wildest ideas to become a reality."
