What's the news?
McLaren Special Operations (MSO) and Chinese fashion designer/entrepreneur, Mr Cabbeen, have combined to come up with this limited edition 570GT, called the Cabbeen Collection.
It's the first MSO bespoke creation to introduce classic Chinese design elements and it debuted at (where else?) the Beijing Show. Just five cars will be built as part of the Cabbeen Collection.
The 570GT Cabbeen Collection is finished in Obsidian Black, with a Gloss Speedline Gold dragon design on both door inserts. The McLaren also wears a new design of 15-spoke GT alloy wheel, which - along with the brake callipers - is finished in the same gold hue as the dragon graphics.
Inside, MSO Defined carbon sill covers are fitted, with more dragons embroidered in gold on the Alcantara centre front tunnel and the rear luggage deck. These dragon motifs, all designed by Mr Cabbeen, are an example of Chao Embroidery.
The McLaren 570GT is the luxury-orientated model of the Sports Series, as its side-opening rear glass hatch adds another 220 litres of storage to the sports car on the leather-lined touring deck. Although 570hp and 600Nm ensure the 570GT is no slouch, as it will punch from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and go on to a colossal 328km/h.
Anything else?
"McLaren Special Operations is dedicated to providing customers with tailored choices that offer them almost endless personalisation alternatives," said Ansar Ali, managing director of MSO. "As a fusion of contemporary British design style and Chinese classic art elements, the 570GT MSO Cabbeen Collection was created to satisfy Chinese customers' desire for individualisation and is further evidence of the growing interest in MSO services in the China market."
