What's the news?
Lexus Ireland has announced Irish prices for its first-ever seven-seater, the three-row RX 450hL. The new model, revealed at the Detroit motor show earlier this year, gets a 110mm stretch to accommodate the extra row of seats, while the rear styling is also much more upright and a little taller, so as to give those sitting there a little more space.
The centre row of seats now also slides, by up to 150mm, and if you go for the Premium model, they're heated, too.
The price for all of this? Some €82,450 for the Luxury model, or €92,550 for a Premium version. What's the difference? A Luxury RX 450hL comes with 20-inch wheels, parking sensors, power tailgate, the Lexus Safety System (which incorporates autonomous emergency braking), electric adjustment for the steering wheel, three-zone climate control, leather upholstery, electric adjustment for the front seats (eight-way), heated and ventilated front seats, electro-chrome mirrors, 'Lexus Premium' navigation, 12-speaker Pioneer stereo and a 12.3-inch screen infotainment system.
Upgrading to Premium spec gets you a different design of 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, heated steering wheel and back seats, semi-aniline leather, a 15-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, a head-up display, 10-way adjustable front seats, adaptive high-beam headlights, wood inlays and sunshades for the rear windows.
Ian Corbett, Head of Lexus Ireland, commented: "We are delighted to welcome the first seven-seater Lexus model to our retailers in Ireland, bringing with it a new range of Lexus customers. The RX 450hL is perfect for families who want a premium self-charging hybrid but who require that third-row seating for children and still have room in the boot for luggage and all that comes with a bigger family. The RX 450hL has a range of unique advantages to enhance the comfort of seven passengers as well as our latest Lexus Safety System technology which has a five star Euro NCAP rating."
