Racing colours and Italian ‘tricolore’ part of special Piloti Ferrari version of 488 Pista.

What's the news?

This is the Ferrari 488 Pista 'Piloti Ferrari', a special custom creation from the Prancing Horse's Tailor Made programme for its well-heeled clients who race the Italian firm's products.

The look of the Piloti Ferrari is inspired by AF Corse's No.51 car, in which Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado won the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles, and this livery is available exclusively for customers who are involved in Ferrari's motorsport programmes.

Specifically, the appearance of the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari has a tricoloured stripe in the Italian flag's red, white and green arrangement, embellished by a laurel celebrating the WEC titles, the logo of the WEC series and also the word 'PRO', which is the class the 488 GTE competed in. Along the sides are more three-colour stripes and a personal race number, which each client will be able to add.

The matte-black S-Duct and the exposed carbon-fibre rear spoiler and vent surrounds complete the exterior differences, while the Piloti Ferrari will be available in four colours inspired by racing: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Argento Nürburgring.

Inside, there are black, perforated Alcantara seats with stitching in the Italian flag's colours on the backrest. Italy's national colours are also evident on the edges of the gearshift paddles and the floormats. Whichever number the lucky owner chooses for the exterior of the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari will be displayed at the base of the steering wheel, while all the carbon-fibre trim parts have a matte finish. There's an exclusive identification plate and sill trim in carbon-fibre, the latter with the Tailor Made logo.

No change to the regular 488 PIsta's mechanicals, though, but when you've got a 720hp 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 at your beck and call, who needs anything else?

Anything else?

The first Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari was unveiled at Le Mans and wore the number 51, to pay homage to that title-winning 488 GTE.
