What's the news?
The drip feed of information regarding the 2019 Skoda Kodiaq RS continues as more details emerge of the specifications of the high-performance SUV. While we will have to wait until the Paris Motor Show in October to see the car in full, new images suggest that it won't be lacking in visual presence.
As standard, the car will run on 20-inch 'Xtreme' alloy wheels, with a design that is similar to that of the rims that feature on the other RS models in the range, such as the Octavia RS 245. The chunky machine-faced wheels come shod in 235/45 R20 Continental ContiSportContact tyres that are designed to suit SUVs like the seven-seat Kodiaq. Behind the spokes, you can get a clear view of the red callipers that grip the 17-inch brake discs.
In addition to the Race Blue metallic paint that is new for this model, the Kodiaq RS gets a high gloss black treatment on the window surrounds, door mirrors, roof rails and front grille. The latter incorporates a new look to the RS logo with a red 'v'. Another familiar RS styling detail is the reflector that covers the full width of the tailgate along its base.
Anything else?
We have yet to hear the Kodiaq RS running, but we expect it to have a sporty soundtrack considering the larger exhausts that protrude from the rear. Occupants will be able to enjoy the twin-turbocharged diesel engine more thanks to an onboard sound symposer to augment the engine note inside the cabin. We've already covered some of the other known performance details of the Kodiaq RS here.
