The Joe Duffy Group has confirmed that it will open its second Volvo dealership, which will be located in Athlone at a site on the Tuam Road, Monksland. In addition to running a full sales operation, the new dealership will also provide aftersales operations. This brings the total number of franchise appointments within the Joe Duffy Group to eighteen.
David Matthews, Joe Duffy Group Brand Director, said: "We are very proud to be representing Volvo Cars in Athlone. Our investment will lead to the creation of further jobs over the next year. This appointment further demonstrates our confidence in the Volvo brand and the strength of our manufacturer relationship. This is another essential step in our growth plans for the Group and increases our national footprint by giving us a further presence with Volvo Cars in Connaught."
Commenting on the announcement, David Thomas, Managing Director for Volvo Cars Ireland, said: "The expansion of the Volvo retail network is a reflection of the development and commitment of the Volvo Cars brand in Ireland. Joe Duffy Volvo Cars Athlone will give us a strong hold in the Midland and allow customers in the area a more convenient location to purchase and service their Volvo cars. The Volvo Cars brand has enjoyed great success this year, with retail orders up by 36 per cent year-on-year."
