The new site will include an electric vehicle charging hub.

What's the news?

The Windsor group is to open a new multi-brand motor mall at a site at Exit 5 on the M50 that was previously occupied by Joe Duffy BMW.

The large site will house Dacia, Nissan and Renault brands in addition to the company's own Windsor Certified used vehicle offering. There will also be a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Centre and a 16-bay workshop, while a café and lounge facilities for customers will be available. Early drop-off and late collection will also be available to better suit the lives of customers having service work done.

A total of 80 jobs are to be created when the facility opens in September, and the large 2.87-hectare site will have parking for up to 150 vehicles. The 46,000 square foot showroom can carry 50 cars, while an additional 350 vehicles can be displayed outside.

In a positive move that will be good news to the growing number of electric vehicle (EV) owners, Windsor is also creating an EV charging hub on site, with 20 charge points. Windsor is planning to make this available to the public with 24-hour access.

Commenting on the announcement, Peter Nicholson, Managing Director of Windsor, said: "The arrival of the Windsor Motor Mall is great news for car buyers and owners. It will bring multiple car brands together under one roof. This is a whole new concept in car retail in Ireland which we have specially designed to offer the greatest convenience to customers. Nothing like it currently exists."

He added: "Windsor has gone through a lot of changes in recent times including a full re-brand to reflect the business that we are and the people we have. The new Windsor Motor Mall is the culmination of all of those changes, providing convenient, friendly and accessible motoring solutions for customers at one great location."

Anything else?

The recruiting process to fill the 80 new positions has already begun. Currently, Windsor is seeking sales staff, skilled technicians, customer care and Aftersales staff. Suitable candidates are invited to apply by email to [email protected]
