New service from Aston Martin allows owners to design their perfect garage.

The Q by Aston Martin bespoke personalisation service has gone to new levels with an initiative launched in California, called Aston Martin Automotive Galleries and Lairs. This allows owners to think up almost any conceivable storage space for their car and then have it made reality by the luxury carmaker.

Welcome to my (car) lair...

Imagination would seem to be the only limit on what AMAGL can do. You might just want a bespoke garage or storage area in your house, for instance, or you might choose to create a complete, luxury retreat centred around your favourite motor. It's not for no reason that the word 'Lairs' is used in the programme's title, as some of the artist's renderings for what can be done look like the sort of premises that wouldn't disgrace a self-respecting Bond villain.

The process would involve the Aston Martin Design Team, as well as renowned architects as well. It builds on work that Marek Reichman, Aston's chief creative officer, and his team have already done on the 66-storey Aston Martin Residences in Miami, Florida. Other buildings designed by Marek & Co include the House of Aston Martin Aoyama, in Tokyo, and the interiors of numerous Aston Martin dealerships.

Reichman said: "Imagine a home or luxury retreat built around your car. Picture creating the ultimate space to showcase your own automotive works of art. This is now achievable with this new offering. For the car enthusiast, the garage is as important as the rest of the house and a bespoke auto gallery designed by Aston Martin that either focuses on showing off the car or is part of a larger, integrated entertainment space with simulators and such like, takes Aston Martin ownership to the next level."

Presenting cars at their absolute best

One company, Obermoser arch-omo architecture, has come up with an automotive lair that could house works of art including the Aston Martin Valhalla or the legendary DB5 in a subterranean circular space. The chosen car sits at the centre of this space, with entertainment, leisure areas and living space for guests arrayed around it. Bold? We'll say so.

Sebastien Delmaire, the partnerships director for Aston Martin, said: "Aston Martin has decades of expertise in staging cars in order to present them at their absolute best but also understands the importance of storage and maintenance of these living, breathing machines. Automotive Galleries can even be designed to fit the era if a customer has a heritage car. We are able to cover every requirement, whether it is to display single cars as pieces of automotive art or a full collection of cars in a private museum. These spaces provide an opportunity for people to create their own unique world where they can share their passion for cars with their guests. The opportunities are endless."
