For those seeking some light relief from the current crisis, German tuning company Novitec (and, oh, how we love our German tuning companies...) has been twisting some spanners on the mighty McLaren Senna supercar, and the results are... invigorating.
902hp and 888Nm of torque
Just on the off-chance that a standard Senna (standard Senna!) wasn't enough, Novitec has boosted the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine's power to a whopping 902hp, while torque has increased to 888Nm.
That little tickle, that tiny smidge of extra power (actually it's an entire Fiesta's worth - 102hp extra) means that the Novitec Senna now has a power-to-weight figure of 753hp per metric tonne (dry). Or about the same as a Bugatti Chiron Sport...
It'll hit 100km/h in 2.7 seconds
So, you'll assume it'll be brisk, the Novitec Senna? Yeah, just a bit. In spite of being rear-wheel drive, it'll hit 100km/h from rest in a claimed 2.7 seconds. It'll reach 200km/h when most family cars are still not quite at 100km/h - 6.5 seconds. The top speed is a claimed 335km/h.
Now, that's all assuming that you go for the top-spec of Novitec's Senna tweaking shopping list. Because, oh yes, the company can tune and tweak the car to the needs and limits of your wallet, so other (lower) power and torque outputs are available.
Unique centre-lock alloy wheels
Interestingly, the bodywork of the Senna has been left untouched, which is a rare exercise of good and demure taste for a German tuner (we're looking at you, Mansory...) although it does offer some unique wheels. Those are supplied by renowned US wheel maker Vossen and come with a 20-inch diameter at the front, and 21 inches at the rear. Both wheels have centre-lock nuts, race-car stylee. They're wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tyres of size 255/30 ZR 20 size at the front, with 325/25 ZR 21 at the rear.
Those seven-spoke alloys are available in 72 different colours, with a choice of a brushed or polished surface. Novitec also points out that it can customise the cabin in: "the finest leather and Alcantara in an endless variety of colours."
