So, buckle up folks, because if you thought we'd previously gone a bit niche with some of our news stories, you ain't seen nicheing yet.
Five special LE60 cars
Morgan, that woody and leather-bound maker of the most classical of British sports cars, is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its relationship with its importer in The Netherlands, Louwman Exclusive. Five - yes, just five - special edition LE60 Morgans will be created to mark this auspicious, nay I say momentous, occasion.
Two of the LE60 cars will be Plus Six models in Ice Blue, a further pair in Scintilla Silver, and a single Almond Green 3-Wheeler. To be fair, there's a little more to this than just the anniversary of Morgan sales in the low countries - it's also about showing off the skills and techniques of Morgan's bespoke cars service.
Yellow accents and highlights
So, what do our celebratory Dutch cousins get? Well, the Ice Blue Plus Sixes come with 19-inch alloy wheels that are meant to evoke the look of classic chrome wire wheels. There are yellow accents on the brake calipers, and the spotlight surrounds, plus some LE60 logos scattered about.
Inside, the seats get black pebble-texture leather finish, with yellow diamond stitching and LE60 headrest embroidery. There's also a tawny wood finish for the dashboard.
The other Plus Sixes Scintilla Silver paint with black Speedster wheels, and yellow brake calipers. There's also a yellow number 6 painted into the grille, yellow horizontal seat stitching, and the same LE60 embroidery on the seat headrests. There's also a yellow band running across the top of the bonnet, which is meant to remind you of a classic leather bonnet strap. The dashboard and transmission tunnel top, inside, are finished in the body colour.
The single 3-Wheeler comes in Almond Green, with the same yellow highlighting as seen on the Plus Sixes. There's also a special leather dashboard panel with a laser-etched design.
Classic looks, modern performance
When discussing the Plus Six, we feel duty-bound to remind you that although this looks like an old-fashioned Morgan, it is in fact a bang-up-to-date car with an aerospace-standard aluminium chassis, and a BMW straight-six turbo engine with 335hp, enough to push it to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds (thanks in no small part to a 1,075kg kerb weight).
