The iX has courted controversy right from the get-go, thanks to that - ahem - challenging styling and a traditionalist-baiting promo film. It is as brilliant to drive as it is awkward to look at, though, and the cabin is truly a thing of beauty, with tonnes of space, high quality and that brilliant, curved touchscreen. The entry-level iX xDrive40 doesn’t quite have enough range to justify its high price, but the others go considerably further on a charge, and are bonkers-quick into the bargain.
