Renault Scenic
Renault has reinvented the Scenic as an electric family crossover - and a good one at that.
Many, many years ago Renault made a compact (but roomy inside) and very clever car called the Megane Scenic, which essentially invented the medium MPV segment and became a sales superstar. Twenty-five years on from that, the Scenic name is back but it’s attached to an electric SUV. However, we’ll forgive it that faux pas as the new Scenic is a genuinely impressive electric family car. There’s no seven-seat version (alas) but there’s plenty of room for five, and a cleverly designed rear armrest that allows you to prop up an iPad. Up front, there’s an excellent digital dashboard with software by Google, and some great build quality too. Choose between a more affordable version or a big battery version with seriously long range.
