Monday October 20
A delayed start to my week thanks to a Lufthansa pilots' strike, but it did leave me enough time to drop back my test car and collect a BMW 2 Series Coupé in 220d form. Thankfully all was right again with some promptly re-booked flights meaning I still made it to Frankfurt in time to spend some time learning about Porsche's latest hybrid technology. Who would have thought a decade ago that Porsche of all brands would be one of the leaders in plug-in hybrid technology?
Tuesday October 21
Busy day today as, in addition to the Panamera S E-Hybrid I've also got the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid to drive. The plug-in version of the oh-so popular SUV makes a compelling argument for the technology and in a way is rather good value in a relative sense. You can read more about it here. In addition there was the added bonus of spending some passenger time in Porsche's frenetic 918 Spyder.
Wednesday October 22
Early morning start in Dublin city centre for a meeting with one of my clients to discuss some interesting new things that we'll be making happen for 2015. But I'm also mixing business with pleasure in a way today, as I've got Jaguar's F-Type Coupé on test, which I'm driving across Ireland to Ennis in order to visit my cousin who just happens to own a very nicely restored E-Type coupé. Apart from a long overdue catch up we used the occasion to compare the two cars side by side and naturally I couldn't say no to the opportunity to drive the E-Type.
Thursday October 23
With the F-Type going back I replace it with a Skoda Octavia L&K, which will come in handy over the weekend as I'll be on chauffeur duty for some friends visiting Dublin from abroad. Deadline day for the latest edition of our iPad Mag is officially today so it's pretty much a full day at the keyboard to get the last of my copy finished and filed for it. On top of that there's still some other content from the last few launches to get completed.
Friday October 24
Normally Friday can be a bit of a wind-down day but with our iPad Mag almost finished (it's a great issue this month by the way) I'm also working on some developments with one of the other plates I spin: The Engine Room Show. Hopefully over the weekend I'll get an opportunity to stretch the BMW and Skoda's legs a little.
