UK importer and distributor, IM GROUP, have acquired Citröen Motors Ireland, the distributor of Citröen cars and vans and DS cars. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed but it does include the Citröen Dublin retail operation in Airside. The acquisition is due to be fully completed by 30 September 2015 and will give IM Group the right to import and sell Citröen and DS models in the Republic of Ireland.
IM Group was identified by PSA Peugeot Citröen as being in the best position to develop future business of the Citröen and DS brands in Ireland and it is believed that the existing dealer network will be unaffected by the take over. An Irish operation will be established and will operate as a separate company within the IM Group, with Chris Graham being appointed as Managing Director. All Citröen Motors Ireland employees will become employees of IM Group.
Commenting on the acquisition, Andrew Edmiston, Managing Director, IM Group, said: "This is an exciting opportunity, both for IM Group and Citroën and DS in Ireland. Citroën has a long and proud history in Ireland, and the range of current and future models will help drive both the Citroën and DS brands to even greater success in the coming years."
