The Joe Duffy Motor Group has announced that it has added the Kia brand to its already extensive portfolio and will begin trading in October from a temporary facility in Airside Motor Park, Swords, North Dublin. In early 2016, Joe Duffy Motor Group will open a new flagship showroom in the same area and will create twenty new jobs, bringing the total number of people employed by the Group to 400.
Up to September this year Kia has registered in excess of 5,300 new cars in Ireland, with the popular Kia Sportage accounting for almost half of this figure. With an updated Kia Cee'd about to arrive to the market along with the larger Kia Sorento SUV that was launched earlier this year, the Korean brand is in a strong position in the Irish market with just under a 5 per cent market share.
Commenting on the announcement, James Brooks Managing Director of Kia Motors Ireland, said: "We are delighted that the Joe Duffy Group have taken on the Kia franchise .The brand in Ireland is going from strength to strength and a partnership with one of Ireland's largest motor groups adds to our reputation and brings our product to a wider customer base"
