Joe Duffy Group buys Boyne Cars

What's the news?

Joe Duffy Group, continuing its expansion plans, has bought Boyne Cars, a Nissan and Opel dealer based in Drogheda. This week the purchase was put to the Competition Authority for clearance. If granted, as expected, then the purchase should go through before the end of the month. It appears that the brands it represents may change.

Gavin Hydes, CEO of the Joe Duffy Group said: "I am delighted to confirm that we have agreed to purchase Boyne Cars, subject to the statutory approval of the Competition Authority. With this addition to our Group, we anticipate another 16 people will join our team. This acquisition further demonstrates our ambition to grow, and increase our national footprint. I look forward to welcoming the team at Boyne Cars to the Group. I am very excited about the future, and what we can achieve together with our latest addition to the Joe Duffy Group."

Frans van der Werff, retiring CEO of Boyne Cars, said: "When selling the business, it was imperative that we found somebody who mirrored our values and culture, and would ensure the continuance of service for our employees and I wish our Boyne Cars team continued success as part of the now-expanded Joe Duffy Group. I would also like to thank our customers for all their support over the past 36 years.
