Czech carmaker Skoda has announced its line-up for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The centre of attention will be Skoda's next design study concept, the VisionC. Referred to as a five-door coupé, the VisionC concept will be powered by a natural gas drive system.
The Octavia range will see addition of three new variants, namely the Octavia Scout, Octavia G-TEC and Octavia L&K. Starting with the Scout, which will be positioned as a crossover based on the Octavia Combi, there's raised ground clearance, visual updates that help differentiate it from the regular version and an all-wheel drive system.
The highly specified Octavia L&K will be available in both Octavia and Octavia Combi body styles. While there will no changes mechanically, the L&K variants will get added features like 18-inch wheels, bi-Xenon headlamps and LED tail lights. On the inside, leather or Alcantara seats will be offered, along with a Canton audio system.
Skoda will also launch a CNG-powered version of the Octavia in Geneva, called the Octavia G-TEC. It will be based on the Octavia 1.4 TSI and though available in both Octavia and Octavia Combi guises, it's unlikely to be sold in Ireland. Skoda says the fuel consumption (running on CNG) is 3.5kg of natural gas per 100 kilometres, with CO2 emissions of 97g/km.
Anything else?
Skoda will also launch three special Monte Carlo editions at the 84th Geneva Motor Show. The Citigo, Yeti and Rapid Spaceback will now be offered in this sporty looking guise.
