Integration of smartphones and tablets with car infotainment systems has been in the news for a while now, but it has finally been realised with the announcement of Apple's latest product. Called CarPlay, the new system can be used to make calls, use maps, access multimedia and messages, using the iPhone.
Apart from that, Mercedes Benz's apps Drive Kit Plus and DriveStyle applications will further strengthen the integration of smartphones into the car's infotainment system. Comand Online is also available, bringing real-time traffic updates, digital radio, a TV receiver and other online features.
Anything else?
Mercedes-Benz is currently showcasing Apple CarPlay in the new C-Class at the Geneva Motor Show.
