Nissan's new Tiida hatch has been unveiled at the Shanghai motor show and it will go on sale in China in May.
The Tiida is aimed at the budget end of the Chinese market and will be sold in 130 countries around the world after its launch in China. Nissan has yet to confirm if the Tiida will be sold in Ireland.
A 1.6-litre petrol engine is used and the Tiida is the first car in its class to come with a turbocharged engine in China. The Tiida uses a CVT (continuously variable transmission) gearbox and Nissan says the car easily meets China's strict new fuel economy regulations.
No word on price for the Tiida outside of China, but expect to see it on sale in all 130 intended countries by 2014.
